The theme of this year’s hui is Tuia Te Kōrero: Weaving narratives. Throughout the weekend we’ll be weaving connections between generations, genres and across the broad spectrum of publishing – including print, online, spoken and self-published. We have structured the weekend in a way that you can decide what works best for you. There are three workshop blocks with a range of options to choose from as well as panel discussions for the whole group. Please note that workshop numbers are capped so please book early. You won't be able to book for workshops running concurrently.

Payment is required within three days otherwise tickets will be released back for sale. If you need to arrange a payment plan please contact admin@maoriart.org.nz ASAP.

Questions? We've done our best to answer your questions here - please have a read through and if you still need more info, there's contact details on the form, or you can check our website www.kaituhimaori.org.nz

Does the ticket price include accommodation?

Yes. The Te Wānanga o Aoteroa campus offers noho marae accommodation on-site, with shared bathroom facilities. The price is the same whether you require accommodation or not, but you will be asked to indicate if you are staying at the time of registering.

Can I bring my tamariki/whānau?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your whānau and tamariki however we are unable to offer childcare at the hui. Please purchase extra tickets for any accompanying whānau over the age of 12.

Why can’t I book more than one wānanga?

If you are having trouble with the booking form, it may be that there is a timetable clash (the form won’t allow you to book wānanga that are running concurrently) or it may be that the wānanga is already full. Please check again and if you’re still having trouble, you can send an email to the administrator (details on the registration form).

I’m not a member of Te Hā, can I still come?

Te Hā is a collective organisation – there is no formal membership per-se. Na reira, nau mai haere mai!

He wānanga mā ngā kaituhi reo Māori?

Ae! E rua ngā wānanga mā nga kaituhi reo Māori.

Where is the hui? How can I get there?

The address of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is 3/5 Heriot Drive, Porirua. Trains leave Wellington city every half hour – allow 15 minutes to walk from the train to the Wā. If you are coming from the airport on Friday morning, you can book a shuttle at the time of registration (your flight will need to arrive before 9am.)
